• HOWARD COUNTY POLICE OFFICERS’ ASSOCIATION ENDORSES JON WEINSTEIN FOR MARYLAND HOUSE OF DELEGATES IN DISTRICT 9A

  Democrat Jon Weinstein, candidate for Maryland House of Delegates in District 9A, is proud to announce his endorsement by the Howard County Police Officers’ Association.  Weinstein is the only candidate in the District 9A race that the Association has endorsed.  Weinstein is the first Democrat to run in 9A to win endorsement by the Howard County Police Officers’ Association.

  “Law enforcement officers play a vital role in keeping our families and our streets safe,” said Weinstein.  “I am honored and humbled by the support of the Howard County Police Officers’ Association, and I am committed to fight for policies that support law enforcement professionals and the brave men and women who protect us and our quality of life.”

  “Jon Weinstein understands the needs of Law Enforcement and the commitment and dedication needed to make Howard County a safe place to live, work and raise a family. We are proud to endorse and support Jon Weinstein for the Maryland House of Delegates in District 9a,” said Gregory Der, Howard County Police Officers Association, Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #21, President.

  In addition to the Howard County Police Officers’ Association, Jon Weinstein’s candidacy to represent District 9A in the Maryland House of Delegates has been endorsed by the Howard County Education Association, the Maryland State Education Association, the League of Conservation Voters, County Executive Ken Ulman and Delegate Guy Guzzone, Chair of the Howard County Delegation to Annapolis, and Maryland’s Attorney General Doug Gansler.

  In the past week both the Maryland League of Conservation Voters and the Maryland Sierra Club have officially endorsed Jon and his campaign for the House of Delegates. These important endorsements demonstrate that Jon’s message on the importance of protecting and repairing our environment and the economic benefits of sound environment policies resonates with the voters and organizations concerned about the environment. Jon believes that the effort to make Maryland a national example for environmental sustainability will require joint-coordination and long-term partnership between the private sector and state government. From promoting green industry and jobs and the use of alternative energy, to developing and implementing innovative and effective ways to reduce and eliminate toxic run-off in the Bay, Jon is committed to working to keep Maryland among the greenest states in the country.
