Jon married Margaret, his high school sweetheart, and they chose Howard County as the perfect place to settle down and raise their family. They live in Ellicott City and are blessed with two sons, Zach and Ben.  Zach is a 2009 Mt. Hebron High School graduate, where he was Athlete of the Year his senior year.  He is currently a student and Division One track athlete at American University. Ben is an energetic rising freshman, excited to become a Mt. Hebron High School Viking in the Fall of 2010. He is a member of the Elkridge Hurricanes travel baseball team and is looking forward to starting his track career at Mt. Hebron.

An active member of the community, Jon has coached baseball for many years with the Howard County Youth Program. He has volunteered for the Hugh O’Brian Youth Foundation for over 20 years, holding several leadership roles including State Chair for the organization’s annual Maryland Leadership Seminar for high school students. Jon and his family are members of the Temple Isaiah congregation in Howard County.

In 2008, Jon was appointed by Howard County Executive Ken Ulman to serve as a member of the Spending Affordability Advisory Committee.  Since then, Jon has joined other community leaders and government officials on this committee to review the County’s revenues and expenditures projections and make recommendations on future spending. Jon is also a member of the Advisory Board for the McDaniel College Human Resource Development Graduate Program.
